Secular changes in human reproduction and assisted reproductive technologies

Abstract Since the middle to late 20 th century majority of children born in developing world have been likely enter into post-reproductive age. Currently, child mortality is at its lowest level human history. While more are living post reproductive age, approximately 15% couples experiencing infecundity. This either a result one or both members couple being infecund, or, despite fecund, interaction between them prevents fertility for some reason. Assisted technologies provided many infertile an opportunity children. operate by intervening and manipulating gametic intrauterine natural selection. paper discusses possible influence assisted on development. outlines reported changes resulting from technologies. Although, few people aware care about long term consequences relaxed selection contributed medical intervention (i.e. technologies) we little understanding what extent such interference may affect fitness humans.
